With You Always: Jody Hedlund

IMG_9160

Being different is sometimes the best thing. Elise Neuman, a poor immigrant and her sisters live at thhe Seventh St. Mission. They lost both their parents and are now homeless. Elise promised her mom that she watch over her siblings and hoping to find a job.

Thornton Quincy knows nothing about financial hardships. His dad owns a factory and was a successful business man. Thornton and his brother grew up privileged and never went with out.

His dad challenged both brothers to a competition to build a town along the railroad line. Elise encouraged Thornton to think about people as individuals with real lives, rather than mere numbers to add to his checklist of accomplishments, to think of others for a change and not himself. Love grows between them, but Elise is certainly by far not the type of girl his father would approve of.

This was the first book I read by Jody Hedlund. What caught my eye was the orphan train, but it was more than that.

How often do we give up on God because our prayers are not answered on our time, but His time! Miracles do happen, we just simply have to believe like Elise. She felt that since she did not have any power or influence, that God would not use her, when in fact He uses us each day, it is us who needs to put the distractions aside and start listening. Can’t wait for Book 2 and to find out what happens between Thornton and Elise.

As part of every web or Amazon review that I write,  Bethany House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.

Love My NingXia Red

Testimony time. This is month three with drinking 2 oz. of NingXia Red and taking Super C . Hair no longer falling out, I now see the hairdresser every 4 weeks, nails that are stronger and healthier, cravings gone (for those of you who know me, I love baking especially cheesecake and homemade cinnamon rolls,) not in the kitchen looking for mindless eating snacks, things with sugar are too sweet, actually sleeping through the night.

With all that said, I use to be a skeptic, not anymore. Are you a skeptic? Afraid to take the leap with essential oils? Guys, I am TELLING YOU THIS BECAUSE IT WORKS. I would not promote something, if I did not try it myself. Are you ready?

Time To Ditch and Switch?

I thought my mentor was crazy when she introduced me to essential oils and even went so far as to share the notion of ditching and switching cleaning products. Well…….that was the best decision! There is not enough time in the day to share EVERYTHING that has changed for me. But I will say, my house smells wonderful after cleaning with Thieves cleaner.

If I Offer You An Oil

Yes!! Yes!! Three months shy of 50, I can say the same. If I know now what I knew then, I would not of had some health challenges. Today, I can say, wow, I feel much healthier. #essentialoils #lavender #stressaway #youngliving #chemicalfree

The Memory Of You

The Memory Of You pulled me in from the first page. How do we forgive ourselves? Natalie lost part of herself when her sister died 13 years ago.(I can not even imagine losing my own sister.) When her grandpa has a heart attack, Natalie returns to the winery in California. She has avoided visiting the winery since that awful summer. Natalie’s dad would like to close the winery due to poor business and its starting to get run down. Tanner Collins, an employee would like to see it closed permentaly, when he meets Natalie everything changes

This book is about redemption, love, family loyalty and how to move past a tragedy. I could not put the book down and my heart was heavy for Natalie. I hope the author writes a follow up to this book. I highly recommend The Memory Of You and carving out time to read it.
